Video gaming companies have been spending a lot of time acquiring each other recently. Nintendo has not really been participating in this, but that has now changed. Nintendo has officially announced that they have acquired Shiver Entertainment. They will be getting “100% of the outstanding shares” of the company.

If you don’t know what Shiver Entertainment is, they were previously part of Embracer Group. Most of their work as of late has been porting games. They were the ones that ported Mortal Kombat 11 and Mortal Kombat 1 to the Switch, and developed Scribblenauts Showdown. According to Nintendo, “Shiver’s focus will remain the same, continuing commissions that port and develop software for multiple platforms including Nintendo Switch”.
