Hello, Xbox Fans!

Today, I am very excited to share with you that The Riftbreaker will launch on October 14! The game is a mixture of a base-building strategy, survival, exploration, and action-RPG. Explore an alien world, prepare it for human colonization and open up a two-way portal back home – all while enjoying the stunning next-gen features we prepared for you. Best of all? You can play it on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Cloud, and with Xbox Game Pass on day one.

The Riftbreaker

Last time I told you about some of the next-gen technical aspects of the game, such as real-time raytracing. In addition to those technologies we also took advantage of the cutting-edge AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution technology, allowing us to say with confidence that you will be able to play The Riftbreaker on Xbox Series X|S in 4K resolution at up to 60fps. Today, however, I’d like to tell you more about The Riftbreaker‘s campaign mode, specifically.

The Riftbreaker

In the campaign mode, you take control of Captain Ashley S. Nowak. You jump through a one-way portal to Galatea 37, an alien world in the far reaches of the Milky Way galaxy. Your job is to prepare the planet for human colonization by building up all the necessary infrastructure – factories, mines, refineries, and dozens of other facilities. After that, you must open up a two-way portal back to Earth to allow the colonists to take over.

The Riftbreaker

Constructing the Rift Station itself is not that easy. However, the biggest trick is to get it running. In order to do that you will have to gather significant amounts of various rare resources. As luck would have it, not all of those are available in the immediate vicinity of your landing location. To complete the mission, you will take a scenic route across the different biomes all around the planet.

The Riftbreaker

Naturally, you won’t find the resources you need on the first attempt. You will have to carry out a range of missions to pinpoint the exact locations suitable for your resource extraction outposts. They will include scouting, scanning, and researching various life forms and places that will eventually lead you to the precious ores you need. Each biome you visit will surprise you with unique creatures, weather events, and other challenges you will have to adapt to. Nobody said that riftbreaking is an easy job!

The Riftbreaker

However, your line of work comes with a number of benefits. Over the course of The Riftbreaker campaign, you will gain access to dozens of technologies that your friends on Earth could only dream of. Exotic extraterrestrial minerals will enable you to construct incredibly powerful weapons and give your Mecha-Suit a wide range of entirely new abilities. Pay attention to what you find. You never know where you can stumble upon your new cryogenic atomizer!

The Riftbreaker

As you visit all the different parts of the planet looking for the necessary materials, you are going to gradually establish a global network of facilities working together towards opening up the portal back to Earth. Obviously, the inhabitants of Galatea 37 are not going to be too happy with your interference in the natural order of the planet. Native creatures are going to attack your base time and again, growing stronger over time. You can be sure that they won’t let you leave without a fight.

That’s all I can share without spoiling any of the secrets. You’ll have to uncover them yourselves when The Riftbreaker launches October 14 for Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Cloud, and with Xbox Game Pass on day one. Book your tickets to Galatea 37 now!

STORY
You play the role of captain Ashley S. Nowak – you are the Riftbreaker, an elite scientist/commando inside a powerful Mecha-Suit. It is capable of traveling through rifts that connect space across vast distances.

BASE BUILDING
Your task is to construct a two-way rift back to Earth. It is a very complex invention and requires enormous amounts of energy. Simple solar collectors and a few tons of steel will not be enough. You will need to build up a complex chain of mines, refineries, powerplants, and research facilities to complete this mission.

EXPLORATION
Galatea 37 is an unknown planet in the Sycorax belt of the Milky Way galaxy. Long-distance surveys detected that it is inhabitable and perfect for colonization. The planet is full of rare minerals and substances that can be found in various locations around the globe. Varied biomes can surprise you with unknown fauna and flora as well as harsh weather conditions. Construct local outposts in resource-rich locations that will transport the required resources using rift technology.

DEFENSE
Your presence on this planet will not go unnoticed. As you build up your industry and disrupt the natural order, the world will start seeing you as a threat. Build up your defenses. Construct walls, barriers, and defense towers as the attacks get stronger with every passing day. You will face thousands of hostile creatures trying to eliminate your presence.

HACK, SLASH, SHOOT
Mr. Riggs can be equipped with powerful weapons and abilities that will allow you to take on the largest of beasts. You will need to be ready to face lots of hostile alien creatures as you scout the planet.

GATHER SAMPLES AND STRANGE ARTIFACTS
Fallen beasts will drop valuable research specimens as well as rare resources. Use everything that you can gather to research and craft new technologies, buildings, weapons, and equipment. You can also scout the terrain using your sensors and dig for treasure buried underground.

RESEARCH
Use the samples that you’ve gathered to research new technologies that will help you build up your base, improve your defenses, develop new blueprints for your Mecha-suit, or improve existing technologies.

CRAFT
Mr. Riggs is fully customizable and upgradeable. Use the blueprints that you’ve researched to craft new parts and weapons. Utilizing better materials for the crafting process results in developing gear with improved properties. Each crafted item has unique properties.
