Remastered versions of BloodRayne and BloodRayne 2 with the subtitle ReVamped are heading to PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch this fall. Publisher Ziggurat Interactive will release the two titles digitally, and Limited Run Games will also publish limited physical editions later this year. Both games will feature updated graphics, cinematics, and improved lighting.

Specifically, both remasters will feature support for higher resolutions up to 4K. Furthermore, cinematic videos are upscaled, and the games’ engines have improved to support uncompressed textures from the original game. Additionally, the game will have revamped lighting, reflections, water, fog, and shadows to boot. On the localization end of things, BloodRayne: ReVamped will feature voiced audio and localized text for English as well as French, Italian, Japanese, Russian, and Spanish. BloodRayne 2: ReVamped, on the other hand, will feature voiced audio for English and Russian.

Previously, Ziggurat rereleased both games in the form of Terminal Cut editions for the PC via Steam and GOG in 2020. However, the release did not include consoles. Similarly, Terminal Cut editions of the two titles featured 4K resolution support as well as improved cinematics and graphics. By the looks of it, the ReVamped editions will feature the exact same improvements as the PC release.

BloodRayne was originally released in 2002 for the PS2, Xbox, and Nintendo GameCube. It follows the story of Rayne, a half-vampire half-human who fights Nazis and supernatural threats through visceral fast-paced combat. The series has since spawned a variety of media outside of games from comic books to movies. The latest release, in particular, was reportedly a big hit on PC. Ziggurat’s SVP of Business Development Michael Devine states “The response to the Terminal Cut editions on PC has been tremendous … Fans of the series are asking for us to bring BloodRayne to more platforms, and we are happy to give console players the update they have been asking for with these ReVamped editions.”

BloodRayne and BloodRayne 2 ReVamped are scheduled to hit later this year.
