Murder Diaries 2 Xbox

It’s that time of year where snuggling up and reading a book from a murderer’s point of view is suddenly more acceptable. That’s right, its Halloween, where spooky goings on are promoted and scary games are in order. Murder Diaries 2 on Xbox combines horror storytelling with a visual novel style game, and it can be played starting today. It is also available on PC, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation consoles.

In the original Murder Diaries, this story was told through gameplay reminiscent of Aery and Life of Fly games. Players control this floating orb thingy through landscapes and surrealist environments whilst hitting checkpoints to continue the narrative. Once again, Murder Diaries 2 continues that trend.

This time around, you are tracking the thoughts of a murderer and a young detective through their lives as they intersect and intertwine with each other. Hit the checkpoints to discover the mystery at the heart of Murder Diaries 2.

It is worth nothing that in Europe, Murder Diaries 2 is only rated PEGI 7. In the US it is T for Teen and even the original was rated PEGI 16. Make no mistake though, this is a mature story focussed on death and murder. The gameplay may not be the most demanding, but the story is not suitable for seven-year olds.

With that out of the way, Murder Diaries 2 is up on the Xbox Store now, priced at £8.39. We will have a review coming very soon so stay tuned for that. For now though, hit us up in the comments your favourite way to spend a Halloween evening.
