Dragon Quest X

The upcoming Square Enix release, Dragon Quest X Offline, is set to arrive on the Switch on 26th February 2022.

In the lead-up to its launch, the game’s producer, Takuma Shirashi, has been answering fan questions about what to expect from the “offline” version. Perhaps the most interesting detail in recent times is that players will actually be able to link their offline game with the online version and transfer their data.

Here’s the full translation of Shirashi’s explaining how data transfer will be available once the offline version is cleared (thanks, Nintendo Enthusiast):

“We plan to add data transfer from Dragon Quest X Offline to Dragon Quest X Online through a Spell of Restoration. After clearing the offline version of the game, you’ll get to use the Spell of Restoration. Doing so will allow you to start the online version with your job at level 70.”

It sounds like it’ll be a neat feature for players who do have access to both the offline and online version of Dragon Quest X. Unfortunately for the west, the MMO Dragon Quest X has never been localised, and right now there’s no word on a local release for the offline version.

Fingers crossed we hear an announcement for western regions in the near future. If we do hear any updates, we’ll be sure to let you know. Would you be interested in playing the offline version of Dragon Quest X on Switch? Comment below.
