According to Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre is composing new music for Grand Theft Auto, but no one knows which one: GTA Online, GTA V‘s next-gen version, GTA Trilogy, or the inevitable GTA 6 (or whatever it’ll be called).
Snoop dropped the news during an interview with Rolling Stone, who then reached out to Rockstar Games. The studio declined to comment.
“I do know he’s in the studio,” Snoop said of Dr. Dre. “I do know he’s making great fucking music. And some of his music is connected to the GTA game that’s coming out. So I think that that will be the way that his music will be released, through the GTA video game.”
GTA V and GTA Online were scheduled to re-release yet again on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in November, but were delayed to March 2022 – a period already crammed with new releases. In its place, Rockstar decided to release Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition on November 11th. The trilogy features remastered versions of GTA III, GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas.
“Experience the games that started it all — introducing unprecedented freedom and immersion through three living, breathing worlds filled with hilarious action, rich, cinematic storytelling, classic characters, and unforgettable music,” Rockstar said last week. The trilogy promises modern controls, visual enhancements including resolution upgrades, and “much more to faithfully tune and improve” the three games. However, their original aesthetics will also be maintained.
We’ll update our readers when/if we find out which GTA Snoop was referring to.
