Rumor has it that Sony and Valve have discussed Half-Life: Alyx‘s release for the PlayStation VR 2. As soon as Sony detailed the upcoming device and announced Horizon Call of the Mountain last week, there was talk of Half-Life: Alyx PSVR 2, with many wondering if Horizon will be able to set the bar as high as Valve did with its VR killer app. Known insider Nick Baker, who goes by Shpeshal_Nick on Twitter, told his followers that Sony and Valve have already worked out a deal for the title.
From what I’ve been told, they have. Not sure when it’s happening though. I thought this was one of those open secrets? https://t.co/RPrdPArDLc

Half-Life: Alyx’s PSVR 2 release makes sense but don’t get your hopes up
Baker, who’s the co-founder of XboxEra.com, has a pretty decent track record when it comes to rumors and insider information but he has been in wrong in the past too. That said, Half-Life: Alyx currently has a very limited audience so a PSVR 2 release makes sense. However, whether Valve has any interest in going back to consoles or not, remains to be seen.
Opinion: We need Half-Life: Alyx on PSVR 2
Zarmena writes… If companies like Sony and Valve want VR gaming to become mainstream, exclusives isn’t the way to go. Just not yet. Half-Life: Alyx would be a perfect addition to PSVR 2’s library, and would help boost the game’s audience so it behooves both companies to work out a deal. However, Valve has expressed frustration with consoles’ “walled gardens” in the past so this rumor should be taken with a huge grain of salt.
In other news, PSVR 2 will be exclusive to PS5 but Sony won’t confirm or deny if it’s backwards compatible.
