The Kagawa Prefecture, located in the south of Japan, is also known as the “Udon Prefecture” for its famous locally-made noodles. Who better to team up with the Kagawa Prefecture than Yadon — the Japanese name for Slowpoke?

The reggae song above is actually from 2014, when it was released in celebration of Slowpoke Day on the 10th of August. It’s been revived to promote Kagawa, as part of a collaboration between The Pokémon Company and the Kagawa Prefecture Tourism Association — a collaboration which has been going on since 2020.

Slowpoke has been painted on buses, boats, and bedrooms in an effort to get people to travel to the land of noodles, but it’s not the only mashup of Pokémon and tourism in Japan — we’ve also seen Pokémon-themed manhole covers and Pokémon-painted Tokyo Banana, a regional delicacy.

But manhole covers and banana cakes can’t be appreciated by people overseas — and this reggae bop can. We know which prefecture we’d visit.
