It’s been a long time since The Wolf Among Us 2 was revealed (again) at The Game Awards 2019, but we’ll finally get to see the game in action in a behind-the-scenes stream this week. This comes four years after the game’s initial release window, and seven years after The Wolf Among Us first launched. Development on the game was beleaguered and had to survive the original Telltale Games closing. So, this will be a chance for the devs to show the time in development hell didn’t harm the final product.

Is The Wolf Among Us 2 Finally Getting a Release Date?

Geoff Keighley confirmed the news, posting a tweet with a teaser postcard. The behind-the-scenes stream is scheduled for Wednesday, February 9 at 10 AM PT/1 PM ET/5 PM GMT on The Game Awards’ Twitch and YouTube channels. We don’t know if a release date will be announced, but we’d be surprised if we didn’t at least get some news about the launch timing.

The original The Wolf Among Us was a huge hit, and helped to further popularize the Fables franchise. The game was praised for its characters, dialogue, and art style. The story followed Bigby Wolf (The Big Bad Wolf) in his role as Sheriff of Fabletown, with players following him through intense investigations into murders that threatened the Fables community. The original The Wolf Among Us received a positive reception from critics upon release (PSLS gave is an 8 out of 10); review aggregate site Metacritic gave the game a score of and 80/100.

We’re excited to see if The Wolf Among Us 2 can live up to the hype. Many titles come out of a development hell worse for the wear, so it’ll be great if the new Telltale Games can make this game a winner.

In other news, PlatinumGames may be focusing on live service titles in the future, and more Dying Light 2 fixes are incoming.
