Destiny developer Bungie has been hiring for a competitive player-versus-player multiplayer game since last year, and if new job listings are anything to go by, it might feature third-person character-focused action. The job listings, which were discovered by The Game Post, seek developers to “contribute to an unannounced multiplayer action game currently in development.” Bungie is specifically looking for someone with experience in designing multiplayer levels in a PvP game and prefers candidates who have worked on “character-focused third-person action games (platformers, isometric, etc).” Familiarity with competitive gaming and esports is a plus.

Will Bungie’s new game be PlayStation-exclusive?

Since joining PlayStation Studios, Bungie has reassured players that it will continue to make multiplatform games. Sony Interactive Entertainment has also confirmed that it has no plans to pull Destiny or keep the studio’s upcoming games from other platforms as its aim is to take advantage of Bungie’s experience in the live service and multiplayer arena.

“In SIE, we have found a partner who unconditionally supports us in all we are and who wants to accelerate our vision to create generation-spanning entertainment, all while preserving the creative independence that beats in Bungie’s heart,” Bungie CEO Pete Parsons previously wrote. “Like us, SIE believes that game worlds are only the beginning of what our IPs can become. Together, we share a dream of creating and fostering iconic franchises that unite friends around the world, families across generations, and fans across multiple platforms and entertainment mediums.”

At the moment, it seems that Bungie’s new IP is in the incubation stage so don’t expect an announcement anytime soon. We’ll keep our readers posted if we find out more about the mystery game.

In other news, PS5 exclusive Returnal has received eight BAFTA nominations. And Sony has shipped unspecified console prototypes to the U.S., with fans speculating PSVR 2 dev kits are going out.
