We love the start of any new Festival Playlist in Forza Horizon 5 and with Series 7, that excitement fails to diminish. Series 7 – Summer kicks things off, with all new events, championships and challenges for players to complete – with each of those having some kind of reward attached to them. If you’re struggling to work out the best car tunes and options, let our full weekly challenges guide to Forza Horizon 5 Series 7 – Summer help you out.

Part 1 – Original Hot Hatch

There can only be one car that is called the original hot hatch – The Talbot Sunbeam!

Sadly, that car isn’t in Forza Horizon 5, so we’ll have to make do with the VW Golf GTi from 1983 instead.

Chapter 1:  VW Caribe

Buy it, get in it, and drive it. If you don’t already have one, it’s a mere 20,000 credits from the Autoshow.

Chapter 2: Puebla Legacy

We just have to win any Street Race in the trusty old Golf for this step. Pick one you like the look of, and let it loose.

I tuned mine up to A Class 800 for this step, and the share code is 904476882.

It is tuned for handling rather than raw speed, so let that information inform your decision on which race to enter.

Chapter 3: Project Sport Golf

Next, we need to hit Speed Zones and earn a total of five stars. Easy enough with the above tune, and I used the Ringroad Speed zone as it is pretty short.

Three runs was sufficient to knock this one out.

Chapter 4: Best Selling Model

The last step this week is to earn an Ultimate Skill Chain in our little car. Whether you prefer to drift, jump or crash into stuff, simply do it until you have earned enough points and Bob will very much be your uncle.

Part 2 – Weekly Challenges

As a new Series starts, racers get the opportunity to involve themselves in plenty of new events including no less than three new Seasonal Championships. All of the following are in place…

Eventlab – UNWORTHYPLEB Presents Horizon Jungle Cruise

For this week’s Eventlab entry, we are restricted to a B Class 700 Pickup & 4X4’s vehicle. It has to be the hero car of the game in that case, right? A Ford Bronco.

My share code is: 703478894.

So what can you expect from this race? Well, most of it is spent axle deep in water, so it’s quite a slow race and it seems the person who made it is a fan of hairpin bends right after big jumps. Oh, and it is a very long circuit.

Not one I enjoyed particularly.

The reward is okay for winning though, a Lambo LM002. Better than a poke in the eye.

Danger Sign – La Mesa

In a BMW M3 ‘08, jump 185 meres to complete this seasonal challenge. Oh, and it can only be a maximum of A Class 800.

What could be easier?

Well, as it turns out, not a lot! My share code for an offroad M3, complete with ridiculous bodykit is: 417044696.

And the reward for soaring like an eagle? How does a Super Wheelspin grab you?

Drift Zone – Camino De Montana

My favourite type of event, and to complete the objective we need to slide any drift car, to a maximum of S1 Class 900, to a total of 140,000 drift points.

For an idea of the scale of the challenge, thats 20,000 more than the standard three star score!

Still, there is nothing my bone stock Formula Drift MKIV Supra can’t handle.

Completing this will get you another Super Wheelspin, so best of luck!

Speed Trap – San De Las Minas

This Speed Trap must be completed in a Subaru, tuned to a maximum of B Class 700.

Now, Scobby’s are normally more about grip than grunt, so this may require a little light fettling. We have to hit 120 mph through the trap, so big power and light weight maybe? I took a lowly BRZ as a base, and tuned it up to this: 139235813.

Approaching from the Southwest, across open country gave the best results, blasting past the trap at 133 mph.

Another Super Wheelspin? Why not!

Seasonal Championship – VW Caribe Legends

Finally, the return of some proper racing!

We need to race in a VW Golf, to a maximum of B Class 700, and win the three races, of best two out of three if you have some mates along. I chose an original Golf GTi from  1983, fiddled about a bit and the share code is: 199093111.

For winning this championship, you will receive a Mexican Traffic Light horn. Yay?

Seasonal Championship – Chihuahua Express

For this championship, it’s pretty open – S1 Class 900, on road racing, so we’re going to need something fast. Something Superfast, perhaps? Like a Ferrari 812 Superfast? (See what I did there).

The share code for one of my favourite cars in the game is: 261040765.

For beating this series of races, we get something a little bit better this time, a BMW M3 ‘08. The same car we needed to do the Danger Sign this week.

Seasonal Championship – La Fiesta

For this series, it’s all about the Fords. The Fords up to a maximum of A Class 800, that is.

Street racing in a Ford? It has to be a Mustang, doesn’t it? I chose a Shelby GT500, and tuned it a bit to make: 402868577.

In field full of Focus’s, this thing dominated.

If you win, you get a Fiesta! A #14 Fiesta, to be exact.

The Trial – Aid of the Party

Ah, the Trial. Unbeatable Driverbots, variable teammates and a stiff challenge – this is why we keep coming back each week.

This time, we need to pedal an A800 Truck to victory, and luckily, I have just the beast we need in reserve. The MB #24 Tankpool Racing Truck Forza Edition, no less.

I love this thing, and will often break it out in Open Racing and surprise a lot of people with its turn of speed. The share code is: 117 572 081.

The prize for triumphing this week is (drum roll) a Puebla Mexican Suit. Just what I always wanted.

Part 3 – Other Challenges

How do you fancy a new Treasure Hunt and Photo Challenge? Well, Series 7 – Summer has got you sorted there…

Photo Challenge – #FESTIVECOLOURS

The photo Challenge is pretty easy this week, no hide and seek in the back streets of Playa Azul.

You simply need to take any car to Guanajuato, and photograph it with the Cinco de Mayo decorations. Simples!

I’ll include my artistic attempt to inspire you. This will net us a Raul Urias Cap, which is something, I guess.

Treasure Hunt – Fireflies

The clue this week reads “Fly the Fire like a bird to collect 5 stars” with a picture of a Pontiac Trans Am, of Smoky and the Bandit vintage. Not exactly a Times crossword level brain teaser, eh?

Get a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am from 1977, and get 5 stars from Danger Signs. I have a somewhat upgraded model, as it happens, and the share code is: 167246741.

I’ll include a picture of the treasure chest location to help you along.

Horizon Open – Skilled in Speed

This one may be a bit of a challenge, depending on the races you manage to pull. You have to, in Horizon Open Custom Racing, drive at above 100 mph for 10 seconds. Whether this means ten seconds in one go, or whether it will add up over time, is a delightful mystery!

Go out there and experiment is my only advice.

As this is the start of a new Series, there’s a new Monthly Rivals event to enjoy too. This one takes you off to the Playa Azul Circuit – just post a clean lap and the job is a good un.

All of the above will net you points and rewards, with those points going towards the Series 7 – Summer cars of the Ferrari 250 GT (20pts) and the Ford Mustang ‘71 (40pts). You’ll also start working your way to the full Series cars, with Series 7 offering up the Ferrari SF90 for 80pts and the Ferrari 599 GTO for 160pts – you’ve got plenty of other seasons left in order to work enough points for those. Series 7 – Autumn will be here this time next week, helping you out.

To play Forza Horizon 5 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S or PC, you’ll need to visit the Xbox Store. It’s freely downloadable through Game Pass.
