It was six months or so ago that we first heard of Team17 and OverBorder Studio’s punishing new action RPG – Thymesia. Today though, that all-important release date gets set in stone, as players on Xbox Series X|S, PS% and PC prepare to plunge themselves into the plague-ridden world that it brings.

Providing dark fantasy combat to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC come 9th August 2022, it’s in Thymesia where you’ll be introduced to the mysterious masked protagonist Corvus, left to battle through the plague-ridden and blood-soaked streets of Hermes against the unforgiving enemies that now inhabit the once-thriving city.

You’ll be tasked with uncovering the truth and saving Hermes, as Corvus looks to utilise mysterious plague powered weapons reaved from fallen foes, using them to execute devastating attacks as he overcomes seemingly impossible odds and uncovers the truth hidden in his memories.

Ahead of that August release and for players wanting to test their prowess against the forces already wreaking havoc on Hermes right now, a Steam demo is available for a limited time between now and Monday 9th May.

The key features of Thymesia include:

  • Weaponising diseases: Seize diseases from enemies and wield them as deadly weapons
  • Fight Your Way: Upgrade and modify Corvus’ basic movements and plague weapons to devastating effect
  • A dark and deadly world: With a sinister and gloomy backdrop, Thymesia oozes character through its environments and setting
  • Unforgiving enemies: Corrupted by the plague, and mutated into monsters, enemies are twisted and incredibly hostile, challenging players at every turn

You’ll find that alongside the demo, Thymesia is currently available to Wishlist on Steam and you should be doing that right now. It’s probably worth your time to check out the release date announcement trailer below too.

Let us know if you’ll be looking to join Corvus as he confronts his past to save the Kingdom of Hermes.
