One of the games we’re most excited for this month is Shin-Chan: Me And The Professor On Summer Vacation – The Endless Seven-Day Journey — yes, the title really is that long. The game is inspired by the My Summer Vacation series and has been developed by the same team, Millennium Kitchen.

Originally released in Japan last year, we didn’t expect we’d ever see it in the West. But we were pleasantly surprised a few months ago when publisher Neos Corporation revealed the game would be coming out in English this summer! One of the biggest reasons we were surprised is that none of the My Summer Vacation games made their way over to the West, but we still wanted to celebrate the upcoming Shin-Chan game’s release by playing one of Millennium Kitchen’s games. And, so, we did.

The lovely Felix is today taking a look at the cute 3DS favourite, Attack of the Friday Monsters! A Tokyo Tale. Created by Kaz Ayabe, who worked on the My Summer Vacation series, this short, charming adventure has captured Felix’s imagination and passion. In preparation for Shin-Chan, he’s taking a look at Attack of the Friday Monsters! and the whole of Millenium Kitchen’s output. Shh, those other games are Sony releases but don’t tell anyone.

One other reason we want to tell you about Attack of the Friday Monsters! is that this game could be lost to time very soon what with the impending 3DS and Wii U eShop closures. So if you like what you see here, head on over to the eShop and grab it — though you can no longer make purchases using a credit card, if your Nintendo Network ID (used on your Switch) is linked with your 3DS and Wii U accounts, then the funds are shared!

Check out the video below, and let us know if you’re excited about Shin-Chan’s upcoming game, and whether you’ve played Attack of the Friday Monsters! in the comments!
