Back in April, Gearbox Software announced it would be reviving Tales from the Borderlands with a brand new entry.

Now, in the latest development, there’s been a leak via Amazon – seemingly confirming the title, release date, and a Nintendo Switch version. There was also a box art reveal contained within the now-removed links:

This new entry will supposedly be titled ‘New Tales from the Borderlands’ and is scheduled to arrive in the second half of October. Apart from a Nintendo release, the game is also coming to PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

The game will include both new and returning characters, and is once again driven by the player’s decision-making. Here’s the story (via Gematsu):

Take a stand against ruthless corporate overlords in this narrative-driven adventure! Within the perpetually war-torn metropolis of Promethea, you’ll control Anu, Octavio, and Fran on the worst day of their lives. Help these three lovable losers as they endeavor to change the world (and maybe even save it)! Face down a planetary invasion, vicious vault monster, and cold-hearted capitalist in this cinematic thrill ride where what happens next is up to you! Meet a motley cast full of misfits, assassin bots, and talking guns in this race to the top! It’s time to fight back against exploitation and corporate greed. It’s time to make Mayhem your business.

This next outing appears to be developed by Gearbox (the same team behind the main games and most recently Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands), whereas the original game – released on Switch last year – was handled by Telltale.
