A Mortal Kombat bundle marking the series’ 30th anniversary has leaked, and it’s probably one of the franchise’s most unexciting offerings ever. Listed for the PS5 over on Amazon, the “30th anniversary ultimate bundle” contains a copy of Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate and 2021’s Mortal Kombat movie in what appears to be an Amazon-exclusive steelbook. Neither NetherRealm Studios nor WB Games have officially announced the bundle, and the Amazon “leak” is still up at the time of this writing. It looks like an announcement might have been set for Gamescom 2022, which takes place this week in Germany.

Other than the aforementioned game and movie, the Mortal Kombat bundle contains the following extras:

  • Mortal Kombat 11, Kombat Pack 1, Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath & Kombat Pack 2
  • Complete character roster, including new additions Rain, Mileena & Rambo.
  • Upgrades for PS5 includes: 4K dynamic resolution/ enhanced visuals/ significantly improved loading times/ cross-platform/cross-gen compatibility.

The movie can also be watched in 4K Ultra HD.

This certainly isn’t what Mortal Kombat fans had in mind to celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary. We know that Mortal Kombat 12 (or whatever the next game will be called) is coming, but NetherRealm and WB Games have kept it tightly under wraps. All we’ve had so far are rumors and reports amid a troublesome Warner Bros Discovery merger, which has put a big question mark over WB Games’ future. There have been reports that WB is looking to offload its studios and license out its IPs, but there’s been total silence from the company itself so we have nothing concrete to go by.

We’ll update our readers when we have more information.

In other news, Sony has been sued yet again for “overpricing” PS Store games, and a Spider-Man modder who removed Pride flags from the game has been banned by modding websites.
