In this episode we take a look at some facts, secrets, and history of the Pokemon franchise, and how they relate to real life. Pokemon is owned by The Pokémon Company, and was created by Satoshi Tajiri in 1995. The franchise began as a pair of Game Boy games, developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo. Pokemon is the second-most successful and lucrative video game-based franchise in the world, behind only Nintendo’s Mario line. Cumulative sales of the Pokemon games (spanning across Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 64, Nintendo DS and more) have reached over 200 million copies.
