Rumors had already been spreading that Annapurna Interactive was involved in an unannounced Silent Hill game and it turns out those were true. Silent Hill: Townfall is being developed by No Code Studios (Stories Untold, Observation) and is being published by Annapurna. While we got a teaser trailer during the Silent Hill Transmission, it contained incredibly few details about Silent Hill: Townfall that didn’t include platforms or a release date.

What is Silent Hill: Townfall?

Silent Hill: Townfall seemingly takes players back to the 90s if the teaser trailer is anything to go by. A couple of people seem to find themselves stuck in a location, believed to be the town of Silent Hill. One seems to be there to atone for a past crime, but that’s the best clue you’re going to get. No Code Studios‘ creative director Jon McKellan says the studio aims to respect the source material but also do “something a little bit different with it”. The narrative will play a major part in the game’s design.

More details are promised for the start of 2023, so it’s going to be a little while before we get our hands on the game. Hopefully, then we’ll also learn about the platforms the game will be aiming for, although we’re assuming PS5 and/or PS4 will be involved.
