Nintendo has confirmed this afternoon that it has changed how Tricolor Battles will work in the forthcoming Splatoon 3 Splatfest which kicks off on 7th January. When the Splatfest kicks off you can opt to join in a Tricolour Battle after the halftime report plus they have also changed it so that you won’t know whether you are on the attacking side or the defending team until the battle starts. They suggest that players who are unfamiliar with how Tricolour battle work can now check out the rules at the Splatfest Pledge Box or via the lobby menu before hopping in. Nintendo has also introduced a new metric known as Tricolor Clout to determine who wins the Splatfest saying that the team which is leading at the Halftime Report will get more Tricolor Clout when defending and those on the other teams will get more when attacking.
