Seen as a follow-up to the 2021 launch of Little Kite – although you don’t need to have played that to enjoy this – Repentant releases on Xbox.

Available to purchase and download from the Xbox Store right now, playable on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S, Repentant from Anate Studio and Restless Corp is a partial sequel to the hard-hitting Little Kite.

Little Kite was a game that arrived on the scene back in 2021, delivering a fairly short point-and-click gaming experience that focused on a rather tricky subject matter. It worked it well though and in our 3.5/5 review of the game on Xbox, we spoke highly of how it immersed players into things, via some great artwork and interesting puzzles.

Now it’s time for Repentant to shine though. And the best thing is you don’t have to have played Little Kite to be able to get the most out of it.

Repentant works point-and-click angles again, with some – in our opinion – stunning hand-painted art pushing things along. It focuses the narrative on Oliver, an ex-crim who has seen the bottle take over his life. But as a shop robbery takes place, Oliver gets the opportunity to change his life for the better.

The thing is, he needs to find out who is in need of help, and who doesn’t.

Priced at £8.39, there’s a chance that Repentant could well appeal, especially so to those who previously played Little Kite. If that’s you, or if you think there’s a space in your life for a hard-hitting game, then go and pick this one up from the Xbox Store. It’s playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. You should well find it on PC too.

Keep an eye out for a review from us.

Game Description:

Repentant is a dramatic point & click adventure game with hand-painted art. Experienced criminal Oliver begins to suffer from strong remorse after the terrible deeds of which his family has suffered. Unsuccessful attempts to restore relations with his ex-wife further worsen his condition and alcohol dependence. One day in a small shop, he becomes a witness of a robbery committed by a young girl. At this moment, he gets the opportunity to atone for his sins by helping another person. But who really needs help and who is the victim? It remains to be seen. Repentant is partially a sequel to the game Little Kite, but it can be played by a person who is not familiar with Little Kite.
