Polyphony Digital has revealed the Gran Turismo 7 VR upgrade will be included in Update 1.29 which will be released before PSVR 2. The free upgrade will allow players to experience all game modes and races in VR mode, as well as an exclusive showroom mode that can be accessed from the player’s Garage.

When will the Gran Turismo 7 VR Update 1.29 be available?

Update 1.29 will be released on February 21, 2023, and will include the free PSVR 2 upgrade for PS5 players. Arriving the day before PSVR 2 is released, it allows those buying the headset to jump into the game immediately on day one.

The PSVR 2 exclusive VR showroom mode will allow players to view their vehicle collection in ultra-high definition detail both inside and out. The showroom offers 12 selectable backgrounds before players can check out their vehicles from a variety of angles from the outside. Getting inside the car is as simple as a single button press.

Away from the showroom, players will be able to benefit from specially optimized HDR tone mapping, foveated rendering, and dynamic 3D audio support to experience races from a whole new perspective. This does include the two-player splitscreen mode, although seeing as the PS5 will only support one PSVR 2 headset at a time, one player will still have to race using a TV screen.
