There are plenty of opportunities to customise your gaming experience. First up, at the start of the game you get to create your avatar. You’ll also get to work with ‘Phases’, levelling you up as progress is made. Each phase has its own strengths and weaknesses, so choose wisely as this will determine your fighting style.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty also offers different options for closed range attacks. You get to deflect and counter attacks using your melee weapons, which results in your spirit gauge filling. Eventually, you can use this to unleash “spirit attacks”, and use special combat moves or cast elemental spells. You can also choose from one of five “Divine Beasts”, your fighting side-kicks who offer assistance during combat.
Want to fight alone or in a pair? With Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty you get to make this decision as the game also includes a cooperative multiplayer mode, where you can summon a friend to help out during combat and take on the game’s challenges.
“As someone who has been fascinated by the ‘Romance of the Three Kingdoms’ depicted in manga and movies since I was a child, I was thrilled to be able to fulfill my dream of creating a game about the Three Kingdoms period,” said Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Producer, Fumihiko Yasuda. “It is our hope that you will enjoy the intensity that is distinctive of Team NINJA games, as you utilize various strategies to challenge the powerful warriors and vicious demons that stand in your way.”
Development Producer Masaaki Yamagiwa added, “We received a great deal of feedback from those who played the trial version of the game, and we have done our utmost to exceed their expectations. We hope that you will enjoy the exhilarating atmosphere of this Team NINJA creation, the challenge of confronting threats, and the joy that is sure to follow.”
And one final decision to make – do you go for standard or deluxe edition?
