Furukawa admits Nintendo holiday 2022 sales were disappointing and Switch sales slowing quicker than expected

Nintendo president, Shuntaro Furukawa, has informed investors that the Kyoto-based company believes that it will be very difficult sustaining Nintendo Switch sales momentum as the video game system goes into its seventh year on the market. Sales for the Nintendo Switch family of consoles are slowing down more quickly than the company had initially anticipated and there’s no plans right now for a successor to launch anytime soon. Mr. Furukawa admits that the company’s goal of selling 15 million unit this fiscal year is a bit of stretch and that the 2022 holiday season was disappointing for the company. Nintendo is not expected to release a the successor to Nintendo Switch for at least another year.
