The Lord of the Rings: Gollum launched without any excitement as the reviews for the game were absolutely dreadful and to cap it off it was a full price release, presumably because it used The Lord of the Ring license. Today, the company behind the game, Daedalic Entertainment, has announced that they are stepping away from making video games and will instead be a video game publisher for sales, and marketing. Daedalic Entertainment also laid of 25 employees and has cancelled The Lord of the Rings game they were making, which was apparently a sequel to The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. Daedalic says it is still committed to improving Gollum via patches and updates.
