In the run up to Gears of War 4, Did You know Gaming takes a look at some facts, secrets, and Easter eggs of the Gears franchise. Gears of War was created by Epic Games, and is owned by Microsoft. The first game was released in 2006 for the Xbox 360. Two subsequent titles, Gears of War 2 and Gears of War 3, were released on the same platform. A remake of the original game, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, was released on PC (Windows 10) and Xbox One. The series’ third sequel, Gears of War 4, continues the story of Marcus Fenix but focuses on his son, JD. Gears of war and its gameplay became popular because of its solo and co-op campaign, which guided the series’ development. The series’ multiplayer later became popular, which pushed the game’s PC gaming presence and allowed players to experience the game before release through open beta.
