There has been rumors for a little while now that Bethesda was working on a remaster of Quake II. In fact, recently, the rumors were suggesting that the Quake II remaster was not only finished, but it was going to be officially announced at QuakeCon 2023, which began earlier today.

Well, it seems that the rumors were true. Bethesda kicked off QuakeCon 2023 with the announcement of the Quake II remaster. It is an enhanced version of the 1997 original, with The Reckoning and Ground Zero mission packs included. There’s also a completely brand new expansion titled Call of the Machine that MachineGames, the studio behind Wolfenstein: The New Order, developed. You can see the launch trailer down below.
