Which new Game Pass game will you be playing?

If you’re a Game Pass subscriber then today sees the addition of a couple of new games – the question is, which league will you be joining?

Game Pass subscribers are fully aware that the service they subscribe to will change on a regular basis. That’s pretty much the case on a weekly basis with Game Pass, whether that be the Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass flavour. On the back of saying cheerio to a number of games just a couple of days back, it’s now time for the additions to hit home.

And the question that awaits with the latest Game Pass additions is a simple one – which league will you be joining? The Lamplighters League? Or will it be, um, the Justice League? And yeah, we know that’s pretty tenuous, but we’re going with it…

Joining Game Pass today as a Day One debutant is The Lamplighters League. And accompanying that is a game that has been doing the rounds for a good few months already; that of Gotham Knights.

The Lamplighters League

From Paradox Interactive, The Lamplighters League will see you trying to lead a band of misfits through a whole new adventure. Taking place in an alternate 1930s world, you’ll be found sneaking, stealing and shooting your way to success.

Strategic turn-based combat awaits with this one, picking and choosing from a variety of characters before using their abilities to your advantage. The plan is to stop the Banished Court from shaping the world to their own. Can you stop them?

We think The Lamplighters League is one that is more than worthy of a play. In fact, our full review is up, live and ready for your perusal. With a 4/5 review score in place, our thoughts concluded with…

I am not normally a fan of this genre, but there is something about the story and tone of The Lamplighters League that has pulled me in – and it will do you too. Get used to the gameplay, the possibilities and the strategies at play and this is a game that becomes highly addictive.

Gotham Knights

And then we get to Gotham Knights. Highly anticipated prior to release  back in October 2022, some twelve months on, it finally hits Game Pass. Honestly, it feels like a game that is perfect for the service.

A huge open world awaits as you get to traipse the streets of Gotham City like you would never have done so before. But it’s when you’re up in the rooftops where the game shines, kicking back, considering actions before ploughing into a fight.

We can’t for one minute make out that the Batcycle sections are good, but the rest of it? It certainly delivers a different take on how we normally enjoy Gotham.

“Yes, Gotham Knights is occasionally cheesy and repetitive, but heading into the Batman universe in this way, playing around with the Bat’s four apprentices can be a real joy. “

What’s next for Game Pass

There are more games coming to Game Pass real soon. Forza Motorsport is obviously the game that will be front and centre for many, but expect others to then follow it. As soon as the big dogs at Microsoft HQ detail the Game Pass line up for October, we’ll bring it to you.

For now, get in the comments and let us know which league you’ll be joining…
