Expressing his desire for the game to reach a broader audience, he conveyed his hope for Pentiment to be available on multiple platforms in the future, including the Switch. Originally acclaimed upon its release on Xbox, PC, and Game Pass, Pentiment garnered widespread praise from critics, with Pure Xbox awarding it an impressive 9 out of 10. Commending its captivating art style and immersive narrative, the game was lauded for its meticulous attention to detail and intricately crafted world-building. Described as a medieval murder mystery with a compelling storyline and a rich cast of characters, Pentiment promises an engaging and thrilling gaming experience for enthusiasts.

Obsidian’s track record on the Switch includes the successful release of Pillars of Eternity in 2019, a game that played a pivotal role in the company’s journey following a successful Kickstarter campaign. However, the sequel to this renowned RPG was unfortunately canceled for the hybrid platform, as confirmed last year. With the recent acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Obsidian’s parent company, Xbox, the gaming industry is witnessing a significant shift. Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, has underscored the company’s commitment to inclusivity, emphasizing the desire for Nintendo fans to feel fully integrated into the Call of Duty community.
