Creatura lets you embark on a new scientific journey

Are you ready to unleash your inner Darwin and experiment in evolutionary design? You’ll get to do so by playing Creatura on Xbox.

This is a game where you create and nurture enclosed ecosystems filled with all manner of flora and fauna.

Previously released onto PC via Steam, Creatura is available to play on Xbox One and Xbox X|S today. We’ve previously been able to tinker with the DNA of dinosaurs in Jurassic World Evolution 2. Now, Creatura allows players to edit the genome of slightly smaller specimens housed in aquariums and terrariums.

Witness evolution in action

In Creatura, players will be able to take part in the journey of evolution, spanning epochs from single-cell organisms to complex creatures.

You’ll be able to grow and breed specimens and use authentic DNA editing techniques inspired by modern tools like CRISPR and GMO. These will allow you to experiment with mutations, creating rare and unique variations that you can trade or sell for profit.

Key Features

  • Sandbox-like gameplay: Enjoy open-ended gameplay with a beautiful bonsai experience, allowing you to design and nurture diverse vivariums.
  • Educational scenarios: Engage in challenging educational scenarios, including extensive tutorials, exploring concepts inspired by the legacies of Charles Darwin and Gregor Mendel.
  • Scientific evolution: Control time and witness the evolution of hundreds of plants and animals through realistic and optimised time-lapse features, bringing science to life.
  • Virtual aquarium/terrarium management: Take charge of fully simulated virtual environments, controlling factors like oxygen generation, pH levels, humidity and temperature.
  • Customisation: Personalise your vivarium by customising tank stands, rims, lids, ground shapes, water levels, and decorations. Unlock rare parts and decorations to enhance your virtual space.
  • Species discovery: Discover millions of possible plants and animals, name them, and contribute to a global almanac as part of your evolutionary research.
  • Visual mastery: Create visually stunning virtual bonsai aquariums/terrariums in a relaxing and educational gaming environment without fail conditions.
