There has been a large number of Final Fantasy games released on Nintendo consoles over the years. You may be surprised to hear, however, that Final Fantasy Tactics is not one of them. The game was released on the PlayStation in 1997, followed by an enhanced port for mobile devices and the PlayStation Portable 10 years later.

Fans have been very vocal about wanting a remake of Final Fantasy Tactics, including on social media. One person that noticed this is Final Fantasy Tactics director Yasumi Matsuno. Matsuno has been responding to fans on Twitter asking for a remake of the game, but has been doing so by encouraging fans to go play Unicorn Overlord instead. He even tells one Twitter user that “I pray that sales of this new simulation RPG will exceed one million copies”. Unicorn Overlord is a tactical RPG game released by SEGA and Atlus earlier this month. It is currently available on multiple platforms, including the Nintendo Switch.
