Nintendo apparently not allowing retailers sell physical version pre-orders of games online

For most of spring, a lot of users have been reporting that online pre-orders for upcoming Nintendo Switch first-party releases, such as the remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, have been getting cancelled. It has been happening with retailers including Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart.

Well, we finally have a reason why. Walmart has sent an email to a Twitter user that notifies them of why their pre-order got cancelled. According to Walmart, “Nintendo will only be offering this item in stores”. This is suggesting that the reason why the pre-orders are being cancelled is simply because Nintendo isn’t allowing people to pre-order these games physically online. A tweet relaying the news is down below.
