You may recall that, last summer, Limited Run Games officially announced that an enhanced version of Tomba!, a platform-adventure game that originally released on the PlayStation 1 more than 25 years ago, is coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. Since then, further details about the game has been few and far between.

Well, that is no longer the case. It has been announced by Limited Run Games that Tomba! Special Edition will be releasing on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on August 1st. The PlayStation 4 version is still planned to release, but it will not be launching with the other versions. It will be coming “at a later date”.

According to Limited Run Games, the game will have a rewind feature, the ability to save anywhere, a toggle for analog control, a museum “crammed with classic print advertisements, original packaging and manuals, never- before-seen dev documents, and high-res original artwork” and a new remastered soundtrack.
