SelectaPlay and Gatera Studio have today confirmed that the rhythm action platformer, ANTRO, will be coming to Xbox, PlayStation and PC – in 2025!
ANTRO is set just after The Collapse, a time when only 1% of humanity survived, forced to head underground to start an all-new life. It’s here, under the old city of Barcelona where ANTRO stands, as inhabitants fight for survival, working forced labour. Those on the upper levels though? Well, they rule over the new underground world.
Problems await in ANTRO
But there are bigger problems in ANTRO and the government has become something of a totalitaian system, as power moves to the corporations, freedom of speech is censored and both art and music become forbidden. However, there’s a rebellion coming to the fore…
In ANTRO you’ll get to journey through the most remote places in the underground metropolis of ANTRO, joining the protagonist, Nittch, as you embark on a mission to deliver a package to a mysterious, unknown recipient. But whilst you’re there, you may as well go about overthrowing the totalitarian government too!
Whatever, you’ll do it by playing with urban music in a thrilling adventure full of action, puzzles and 2.5D platforming.
Move to the rhythm
Exploring ANTRO will see you moving to the rhythm of hip hop, drill, R&B, and electronic music, skirting around the city, overcoming obstacles in your way, be it by resolving puzzles or traversing the environment using parkour. At all times though you’ll need to be prepared to run at full speed, as the pursuits in ANTRO are plentiful and both you and the scenario will move in synchrony with the music. And remember: the enemy is always lurking.
