Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is not the only Nintendo game to receive a new update on the Switch. Nintendo Switch Sports, which released on Nintendo’s hybrid console a little more than 2 years ago, has also been updated. This one, however, had been announced in advance. It was revealed in Nintendo’s June 2024 Direct, and the update’s release date was confirmed just yesterday.

Once you update, Nintendo Switch Sports should now be at version 1.5.0. As for the patch notes, they’re not much. Some bugs were fixed, but the update’s main purpose is the addition of a new sport to the game, which is Basketball. You can see the patch notes down below, as well as a new trailer that Nintendo released to coincide with the update.

Basketball

  • Basketball has been added. It can be enjoyed in all modes: Play Globally, Play Locally, and Play with Friends.

Overall

  • Several issues have been fixed to improve the gameplay experience.
