PS Plus Extra subscribers received Remnant 2 as part of their subscription in July. Now may be a good time to check out the third person action RPG as a big, free content update is coming next week.

The headlining feature for Remnant 2’s upcoming free content update is a brand new mode called Boss Rush. Players will have the option to play solo or multiplayer and choose between three difficulty options. Triple Threat pins Travelers against three bosses, Trial by Fire against seven, and The Gauntlet against a whopping 19 bosses. Players will test their mettle as they fight hordes of enemies, including an Aberration, to reach a boss. Each run will earn players new drops, as well as temporary buffs, and powerful passive bonuses.

Those who want to partake in Remnant 2’s Boss Rush mode can access it by heading to the World Stone in Ward 13, and choosing the mode. The preferred difficulty will be chosen there as well.

The free content update also introduces Prisms, a new feature to the rebalanced fragment system. Players can level Prisms to garner additional stat bonuses. Major quality of life improvements will be part of the update as well.

Alongside Remnant 2’s free content update is its third and final DLC pack The Dark Horizon. Unlike the base game’s free update, PS Plus Extra subscribers will have to purchase the DLC in order access the new premium content. The Dark Horizon features a new storyline, dungeons, area, glider traversal system, archetype, bosses, and more.

Remnant 2’s free content update launches on September 24, 2024. The Dark Horizon DLC launches on the same day and costs $9.99.

Sony recently announced the September 2024 PS Plus Extra and Premium games. Popular games like Night in the Woods, and Far Cry 5 are just two of the nine additions to the service. Most notably, The Plucky Squire is available for PS Plus Extra subscribers on launch day, September 17, 2024.
