A recent rumor that Microsoft was “pausing” or “slowing down” PS5 ports of Xbox games has been rubbished by none other than CEO Satya Nadella. We didn’t report on the rumor but traced it back to one eXtas1stv on X, who seems to have a mixed reputation when it comes to leaks. However, that didn’t stop some folks from thinking the rumor was true.

Microsoft CEO highlights PS5 ports of Xbox games in fresh letter to shareholders

Speaking about gaming in his annual letter to shareholders, Nadella spoke about Xbox’s new strategy of bringing its games to as many platforms as possible, including PlayStation. He specifically highlighted the PS5 ports of Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and Sea of Thieves.

“We are bringing great games to more people on more devices,” Nadella wrote. “We brought four of our fan-favorite titles to Nintendo Switch and Sony PlayStation for the first time, as we continue to extend our content to new platforms.”

The aforementioned rumor bizarrely implied that social media reactions to Indiana Jones’ PS5 release was part of the reason why Microsoft was “slowing down” the ports. We highly doubt the company makes high-level decisions based on fan meltdowns, so we can safely throw this rumor in the trash can.
