Autumn, stormy season in Mexico. It’s that which has dawned in Series 40 of the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges in Forza Horizon 5, and it is pretty much business as usual. That means more events to try your hand at, more cars to win, and more tunes and vehicle choices required – sounds like I’ll have my work cut out!

So pack a brolly as we run down what we are going to need this week.

Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – Arbalist

The subject of Series 40 Autumn’s weekly car challenge is a car for those who like to travel light, the KTM X-Bow R from 2013. Not promising much besides four wheels, an engine and a chair, this stripped out racer will bring a smile to your face. Maybe pack a helmet too, eh?

Should you not have one already, go and buy it from the Autoshow – they will exchange it for 105,000 of your credits.

Chapter 1 – Track Weapon

Get in your new car, take it for a spin. Step one complete.

Chapter 2 – Right on Target

Now earn 6 stars from Speed Traps. I’ve upgraded mine a tad, look for share name “KTM S2” with my GT, Red620Ti to help with this.

Chapter 3 – Carbon Tub

Get 5 air skills now. What can possibly go wrong, jumping a carbon tubbed vehicle?

Chapter 4 – Quarrel Wreath

Now, simply win a road race. What could be easier?

Complete these tasks and we will be five points closer to the seasonal prizes that are up for grabs with Forza Horizon 5’s Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 40.

Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts

With the weekly challenge done and dusted, let’s dive into the rest of the mayhem on offer.

The Trial, two Eventlab, a few PR Stunts, some races…

The Trial – Porsche the Button

And let me know?

This week the theme is AWD Porsche cars to a max tune of A Class 800, and so the choice is easy. A stock Taycan Cross Turismo for me please!!

We smashed it last week, so let’s hope that the trend continues, as we attempt to win a Jaguar CX-75

Eventlab 1 – R3VOLV3R5848 Presents SMR 2: The Mayan Discovery

We need a Rally Monster tuned to S1 Class 900, and so it is time to unleash the Hoonigan Escort RS1800, share code : 264985022. This car makes me happy.

Fast and furious, with the wheels rarely touching the ground, this one was a fun drive.

A car is the prize, a Ford GT ‘17.

Eventlab 2 – BPEASE17 Presents Royal Hills Intl. Raceway

We need a Modern Supercar, tuned to S1 Class 900 for this, so I reached for my old fave, the Nissan GT-R Black Edition. Share code? Yeah, that’s 394811233.

A fast and challenging track, the chicanes in the latter part of the lap give it a kind of Le Mans feel. Nice work!

Prize for completing this is a Super Wheelspin. Yes, another.

PR Stunt 1 – Danger Sign – Event Horizon

This week, all the PR stunts need the same car, an S1 Class 900 Super GT. Ferrari 812 Superfast, anyone? Share code for mine is :  261040765.

Jump over 275 m to win. Hit the ramp at over 180mph to make this easy.

If you do it, take a Super Wheelspin home.

PR Stunt 2 – Drift Zone – Punto Norte

Same car again, I fancy. We need to score over 70,000 drift points for this challenge. The surface being dirt made this simple.

Another Super Wheelspin awaits.

PR Stunt 3 – Drift Zone – Hillside

More sliding now, with 80,000 drift points being the target. Tarmac makes this more challenging, but keep pulling that handbrake!

Not another Super Wheelspin?

Seasonal Championship 1 – Best of Us

Modern Muscle, A Class 800 are the ingredients, and a Shelby GT500 from 2013 was what came out of the oven. Share code for mine is : 402868577.

For winning out, we can take home a Chevy Camaro ‘15.

Seasonal Championship 2 – Speed and Precision

Track Toys from the UK, with a tuning limit of S1 Class 900. Not a huge choice, so I went with a Lotus 3-Eleven. Share name for mine is “S1 Lotus” with my GT, Red620Ti.

For winning, it is a 2012 911 GT2 RS we can slot into the garage.

Part 3: Other Challenges

More to do this week, with the return of the treasure hunt, plus more!

Photo Challenge – #FASTANMARTIN

We need to photograph any Aston at the Drag Strip Speed Trap to win this challenge.

Enjoy my artistic effort up at the top of this piece. There’s a location for you below.

The reward? A new Photo Hoodie.

Treasure Hunt – Time Laps

The clue this week reads “A lap of the stadium can be done while you roam, in under 20 seconds and treasure you’ll own”.

There’s a picture of a Porsche, but I’m not sure we have to use one. Basically, go to the stadium in free roam and lap the circuit in under 20 seconds to win. I did this in the Superfast Ferrari from the PR Stunts.

The chest contains 300FP, and the location is shown below.

Hide and Seek – 5 vs 1

Play Hide and Seek, which is still just new enough to not get boring.

Complete one game to win a new car horn, Legacy Rewind.

Collectible Challenge – Safety First

Smash 6 helmet pinatas (no sniggering at the back!) at the Stadium Oval Track and you too can get the “Fist Pump” emote.

Check out the picture below for a picture of where to look, and the location.

Part 4: Hot Wheels Events

If you have the Hot Wheels expansion and are an Elite Level player, then you get to enjoy a couple of extra events.

Seasonal PR Stunt – Danger Sign – Canyon Jump

The vehicles for the PR Stunts in the Hot Wheels events are S1 900 Super GT cars, same as the PR Stunts in Mexico. Ferrari 812 Superfast, anyone? Share code for mine is : 261040765.

Jump over 350m to win big. I hit the ramp at 165mph to clear this.

A Super Wheelspin is your reward.

Seasonal Championship -Best of British

We need a Extreme Track toy, tuned to S2 Class 998 to take part here. I chose a Bugatti Divo, and the share code is : 169915677.

The reward for racing? A 911 GT3 RS from 2016.

Part 5: Rally Adventure Events

The Rally Adventure expansion brings even more events to the roster and provided you are already a Horizon Badlands champion, you’ll get access to the following couple of events…

Seasonal PR Stunt – Danger Sign – Canyon

An A Class 800 Rally Monster is needed here, and so the Hoonigan Cossie V2 is up. Share code for mine is: 140648350.

We need to jump over 185m to triumph so make sure you take a run up. Hitting the ramp at over 120 mph saw me clear this easily.

The prize is another Super Wheelspin. Sigh.

Seasonal Championship – Getting to Grits

All about those puns this week!

For this event, a Rally Monster tuned to A Class 800 is needed, so the same Hoonigan as above will do you proud.

Completing the championship will get us a Vuhl 05RR.

The rewards for Series 40 and Autumn in Forza Horizon 5

With Series 40 just beginning, the reward cars are out of reach, but when you do finally have enough points, it’ll be the Porsche #92n RSR for 80 points and a Lotus 2-Eleven for 160 points that are up for grabs.

Even more Rivals circuits have now been added with Series 40 – Baja California Trail and Horizon Mexico Circuit. The prize total stays the same though, 4 points for making sure you turn in a clean lap.

Grab enough points and Series 40 Autumn also sees you given access to the exclusive Porsche 911 Rallye, with a Rothmans livery.Although they can’t write Rothmans these days on the side of a car, it seems, for 20 points. Additionally, for 40 points we can get a Backstage Pass, and these can be swapped for hard to find cars in the game. Handy!

Join us next week as we look at Series 40 Winter, following that by Spring.

To enjoy these events in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you’ll need a copy of Forza Horizon 5.  It’s available on Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and on the cloud via mobile. The Xbox Store will sort you out with a download.

Let us know in the comments if I have helped, hindered or missed the mark with these tunes.
