Sony unveiled PS Plus December 2024 games lineup yesterday as part of PlayStation’s 30th anniversary celebrations, and players feel that it leaves much to be desired. Next month’s Essential games also include a title that was removed from PS Plus Extra earlier this year, which means that a large number of subscribers have recently played it.

PS Plus could have offered better games in December to mark 30th anniversary, fans say

As announced yesterday, December 2024’s PS Plus monthly games lineup includes It Takes Two, Aliens: Dark Descent, and Temtem. It Takes Two was previously part of PS Plus Extra and was removed earlier this year.

From comments that we’ve seen across PS Blog, gaming forums, and social media, players aren’t taking issue with the games per se. They just feel that the lineup is underwhelming considering the occasion.

“This is one the most corporate and uncaring attempt at an anniversary, let alone a 30th anniversary, I have ever witnessed,” wrote one subscriber. “I actually had to comment for the first time today to express how lame this is,” wrote another. “I usually don’t like complaining on blogs but this is horrible.”

The full PS Plus Extra and Premium lineup for December 2024 has yet to be announced, but Premium players have been promised three beloved classics and a game trial.
