Xbox Game Pass welcomes new games

Over the last few weeks, Game Pass subscribers have been treated to some cracking new games; games like Nine Sols, for instance. This week is no different for new additions to the subscription service – it’s just that it’s a little quieter than usual.

In fact, as we sit and type, there is just the one new addition to Game Pass (Xbox and PC) this coming week, with that game in itself only landing in Game Preview form. But what game is it? Are you ready to be Overthrown?

Overthrown – Console, PC, Clown

Overthrown, coming to Game Pass as a Day One drop on December 5th, is a unique kingdom-building game with a chaotic twist.

As a Monarch wielding a soul-stealing crown, you’ll build your kingdom from scratch, defending it from mutants and bandits with physics-defying powers. Yep, you’ll get to hurl trees, houses, and even your own citizens to gather resources and reshape the land!

Available as a Game Preview title, ahead of a full launch further down the line, you’ll get to experience a vibrant world with dynamic seasons, where you’ll manage resources, farm the land, and keep your people happy.

Play solo or with up to five friends in co-op, but beware – only one can wear the crown! With its quirky humour, addictive gameplay, and endless possibilities, Overthrown promises a refreshingly different take on the kingdom management genre. It’s so intriguing that the Game Pass release feels a no-brainer.

Take in a download of Overthrown via the Xbox Store – you’ll be able to play this one on Xbox Series X|S and PC.

What’s next for Game Pass

On the back of a ton of games shifting out of the service at the end of November, we’re still waiting to hear exactly what new games will be filling their spot.

What we do know though is Indy is on the way, with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle launching into Game Pass come December 9th, a few days after the opportunity to grab it in Premium Edition form and enjoy a few days of Early Access.

For now, let us know if you’ll get involved with Overthrown.
