After a month of winter, a new Series of Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges come to the fore, and summer has finally appeared in Mexico with Series 42.
This one goes by the name of “Extreme Horizons”, and it promises to bring more of the action that we are used to, and hopefully some Extreme cars!
The challenges are waiting, are you ready? I’ve got the tunes and the best cars for the job…
Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – The Future is Bright
But not orange, it seems.
We need to buy and drive a Rimac Concept Two, one of the fastest electric cars in the world. Not, as the name suggests, a device for removing troublesome bodily hair!
Should you not have one in your garage, they are on sale at the Autoshow, priced at 2,000,000 Credits. Hope you have deep pockets…
Chapter 1 – Electric Era
Get in your new car, take it for a spin. Step one complete.
Chapter 2 – Advanced Technology
As this car has the equivalent of 1914 hp, go hit 250 mph for more than 10 seconds
Chapter 3 – Like No Other
As the car has four electric motors, one in each wheel, you’ll need to win a road race.
Perhaps that doesn’t make sense, but travel to the Horizon Oval as that is the best for this, as is stock trim.
Chapter 4 – Experience Electric
Now we simply need to drive 10 miles in the car. Hit the highway.
Complete these tasks and we will be five points closer to the seasonal prizes that are up for grabs with Forza Horizon 5’s Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 42.
Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts
With the weekly challenge done and dusted, let’s dive into the rest of the mayhem on offer.
Series 42 Summer welcomes The Trial, just the one Eventlab, a couple of PR Stunts, some races…
The Trial – Street Safari
This week, the challenge is to take a C Class 600 Vans and Utility vehicle and do some racing.
Not a massive choice, so I chose a Ford F-150 SVT Lightning, share name “Lightning” with my GT, Red620Ti.
Pray that a new year brings new people who want to work as a team, shall we?
We will attempt to win a Mosler MT900S.
Eventlab 1 – R3V0LV3R5848 Presents FCG HH2 : AKKARIS
We can only use the M12S Warthog here, so stock trim is as good as any.
This is a very long, very strange track. The margins of the track are littered with obstacles, so staying on the course is the only way you’ll find success.This one is very much “OK”.
The prize is a Hoonigan Bel Air.
PR Stunt 1 – Speed Trap – Northern Passage
This week, all the PR Stunts need a S2 Class 998 Extreme Track Toy. I used the Bugatti Divo, share code : 169915677.
We need to hit 225 mph to win out. Take a run up from the west.
If you do it, take a Super Wheelspin home.
PR Stunt 2 – Speed Trap – Escarpment
Same car for this, I fancy.
Hit the trap at north of 187 mph to win out.
Another Super Wheelspin awaits.
PR Stunt 3 – Speed Zone – Camino Del Ciela
A bit of average speed driving to round things off, and the target is 142 mph. Stay in the Divo.
Approaching from the west is best, but this is hard.

Seasonal Championship 1 – Come Rain or Shine
Unlimited Offroad, A Class 800 in combination means only one thing – the Jeep Trackhawk, share code : 118411445. Go wild!
For winning out, we can take home an #25 Ford Bronco.
Seasonal Championship 2 – Super Mare
S1 900 and Ferrari are the criteria, and so the 812 Superfast is called upon. Why would you not race in a car called Superfast?

Part 3: Other Challenges
Three things to turn your hand to this week. All pretty easy.
Photo Challenge – #APEXSUPERSTARS
Photograph the Caterham RS500 at the Horizon Apex Outpost. Simples!

The reward? An Apex Predators Desert Scarf. Not a Dessert Scarf, which is much messier.
Horizon Tour – Co-op Racing
Complete a Horizon Tour to complete this challenge. I can’t recommend a tune, as you could be faced with anything, but join in and it should be fine.
Take home a whole 8 points for this. Nearly as many as the Trial and a lot easier!
Collectibles – Pinatasaurus
We need to smash 20 dinosaur shaped pinatas around the Stadium.
Seems easy enough, yeah? Well, the location and what you are looking for are pictured below.
We can get a new “Thumbs up” emote for smashing those poor dinosaurs.
Part 4: Hot Wheels Events
If you have the Hot Wheels expansion and are an Elite Level player, then you get to enjoy a couple of extra events.
Seasonal PR Stunt – Speed Trap – Forest Edge
We need an S2 Class 998 Extreme Track toy for this, so the Bugatti Divo will suffice. Share code : 169915677.
Hit the trap at over 250 mph to win. Approach from the south to use the fans to your advantage.
A Super Wheelspin is your reward.
Seasonal Championship – Ice Breaker
The class this time is a B Class 700 Subaru, and so the BRZ gets my vote. Share name is “BRZ” with my GT, Red620Ti.
The reward for racing? A Penhall Cholla.
Part 5: Rally Adventure Events
The Rally Adventure expansion brings even more events to the roster and provided you are already a Horizon Badlands champion, you’ll get access to the following couple of events…
Seasonal PR Stunt – Speed Trap – Cascada Fuerte
We need an S2 Class 998 car for this, and as it is off road, I think the time is right for the BMW X5 M FE to make a comeback. Share code is : 519084427.
Hit the trap at over 115 mph to win. This is tricky, but the car accelerates so quickly it is doable.
The prize is another Super Wheelspin. Sigh.
Seasonal Championship – Apex Evolution
An S1 Class Rally Monster is needed here, and so the Hoonigan RS1800 Escort moves straight to the top of the pile. Share code for mine is : 264985022. Enjoy!
Completing the championship will get us a RS200.
The rewards for Series 42 and Summer in Forza Horizon 5
With Series 42 just getting out of the blocks, the reward cars have been revealed – It’s the Radical RXC for 80 points and a Hot Wheels Twin Mill for 160 points that are up for grabs.
Even more Rivals circuits have now been added with Series 42 – only two this time around though. There is the Tierra Prospero Circuit for petrol heads, and the Ek Balam Cross Country Circuit for those who get a charge out of EV’s. (Sorry). The prize total stays the same though, 4 points for making sure you turn in a clean lap.
Grab enough points and Series 42 Summer also sees you given access to the Exclusive C-10 Slayer for 20 points. Additionally, for 40 points we can get a Backstage Pass, and these can be swapped for hard to find cars in the game. Handy!
