Now that the existence of a PS2-era Grand Theft Auto trilogy has been confirmed with the announcement of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, people’s attention has been directed elsewhere. Instead the rumors and speculation now concentrate on what the “across-the-board upgrades” will be. A forum post by renowned GTA leaker alloc8or seems to go into more detail on those upgrades, including Grand Theft Auto Trilogy GTA V controls for the older games.

Announced just last week, the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will feature Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, all with “across-the-board upgrades.” Despite the upgrades, Rockstar promises the trio is “still maintaining the classic look and feel of the originals.” alloc8or’s post details some of the upgrades players can expect from the trilogy and seems to take on the form of a description from the RockStar Games Store, although the page is not available to the general public right now so it can’t be verified. This is where the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy GTA V controls are mentioned. It reads:

Three iconic cities, three epic stories. Play the genre-defining classics of the original Grand Theft Auto Trilogy: Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas updated for a new generation, now with across-the-board enhancements including brilliant new lighting and environmental upgrades, high-resolution textures, increased draw distances, Grand Theft Auto V-style controls and targeting, and much more, bringing these beloved worlds to life with all new levels of detail.

The Grand Theft Auto Trilogy GTA V controls should help the older games feel a bit more modern while still retaining their classic designs.

More official details are promised for the following weeks. For now we’re left with the rumors coming from alloc8or, including a leaked trophy list that follows on from the trophy art leaked earlier. If the lists are accurate, they differ from the PlayStation 2 ports and PlayStation 3 versions released previously, with each game now having 40 trophies. None of the trophy values are specified but the leaked list can be found below:
