Expeditions have been a popular addition to No Man’s Sky in 2021, so much so that developer Hello Games was taken aback by their success. They’re also aware that a lot of people missed out on some of the Expedition rewards as they didn’t have time to play them. As such, Expeditions will make a return over the holiday season to give players another chance at earning rewards like the Normandy from Mass Effect.
Beginning today, players will get a chance to play all four of the previous Expeditions. Each will run for a period of two weeks and have been adjusted to account for the shorter window of time. For those wanting to replay them, they also have a new starting planet and a new route, meaning it will seem like a fresh experience. The Expeditions can be started by choosing Community Expedition from the mode select screen. The schedule is as follows:
November 24 – December 7
- Expedition 1 (Pioneers)
December 7 – December 21
- Expedition 2 (Beachhead/Normandy)
December 22 – January 4
- Expedition 3 (Cartographers)
January 5 – January 19
- Expedition 4 (Emergence)
As well as the start of the Expedition reruns, today also saw the release of a small update with more bug fixes and gameplay improvements. The full list of tweaks can be seen below:
