It has long been rumoured that the classic Nintendo 64 shooter, GoldenEye 007, is getting a remaster and now it has been discovered that a trademark for Goldeneye for “downloadable electronic game software” has been granted a second extension. The game has been difficult to reproduce due to numerous issues related to the trademark and it lays between various rights holders such as Nintendo, Microsoft and MGM. However, this years marks the 60th anniversary of the James Bond franchise, meaning that it is the perfect time to take GoldenEye 007 out of retirement. The most recent evidence of the remaster came in January when developers over at Rare were spotted unlocking Xbox Achievements for a GoldenEye 007 remaster. Let’s hope all three companies can work together to make this happen.
