Metroid Dread took Nintendo Switch owners and critics by storm when it was released last year and sales of the game continue to thrust the series back into the limelight. UK video game journalist, Christopher Dring, has taken to Twitter to announce that the 2D action-packed game is now the third best-selling Metroid game of all-time in the United Kingdom. The two best-selling Metroid games are Metroid Prime for the GameCube and Metroid Prime 3 for the Wii. Nintendo doesn’t provide digital sales, so it is thought that Metroid Dread could well be the best-selling Metroid game ever, if both digital and physical sales were counted.
