The Amy Hennig Marvel game, which has yet to receive an official title, won’t feature co-op despite having four playable heroes. Hennig told IGN that although there won’t be any co-op mechanics, narratively speaking it can be seen as a co-op experience. In development at Skydance New Media, the untitled World War II-era adventure will feature Captain America, Black Panther, and members of the Howling Commandos and the Wakandan Spy Network.

Amy Hennig Marvel game aims to offer “a shared living room experience”

It may not offer co-op, but Hennig wants her Marvel game to offer “a shared living room experience” similar to Uncharted games. Responding to IGN’s question about co-op, she said:

Narratively yes [it will be co-op], gameplay mechanics-wise no. We experienced something partly intentionally partly by happy accident on Uncharted that for people playing our game it was a shared living room experience… even if their hand wasn’t on the controller.

From what we saw yesterday, the game appears to have an intriguing concept. Playing as four different superheroes in World War II, fans will experience a “globe-trotting adventure” inspired by comics, television, and films.

“Amy and the Skydance New Media team have a deep love and respect for our characters, have poured themselves into the core comic book inspiration, and will harness their incredible storytelling skills to craft an all-new, thrilling narrative experience,” Marvel Games vice president and creative director Bill Rosemann said yesterday. “Stay tuned over the next months as we’ll share additional looks at our four heroes, two worlds, and one war.”

We’ll update our readers when we have more information.

In other news, it’s increasingly looking like Ubisoft will announce an Assassin’s Creed 1 remake soon if not today, and PS5 has overtaken the Nintendo Switch as 2022’s best-selling console in the UK.
