Here we go! The first Elden Ring GOTY award was handed out at Japan Game Awards 2022 this week. The FromSoftware game won big at the Tokyo Game Show, picking up two prestigious awards. In the second category, Awards for Excellence, Elden Ring nabbed a trophy alongside a number of other games including Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Forbidden West, which has already won a GOTY award at July’s Develop: Star Awards.

Given its glowing reviews and player reception, it’s only a matter of time before more Elden Ring GOTY trophies pop up. The full list of Japan Game Awards 2022 winners is as follows (thanks, Siliconera):
