The likelihood of Tekken 8 release date announcement at The Game Awards

Tekken 8 was first teased at Evo 2022 in August, and subsequently confirmed at September’s State of Play. The trailer showcased a cinematic battle between Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima, and revealed that Tekken 8 will release on the PS5. No other information was shared but fans were asked to “stay tuned.”

Considering Tekken 7 was released nearly eight years ago, it’s possible that Tekken 8 has been in development for a while but has been kept tightly under wraps. If that’s the case, we may get a release date – or at least a release window – at The Game Awards. Don’t hold your breath, though, because it’s possible that all we’re getting is a new trailer with promises of more information in the new year!
