Electronic Arts and developer Motive Studio have revealed the Dead Space Remake PS5 graphics settings, providing a direct comparison between Performance vs. Quality graphics settings. And by Quality, they mean Resolution mode on PS5 of course. Given the lack of details from recent posts on graphics modes, like the one for Hogwarts Legacy for PS5, this update is very much appreciated.

Dead Space Remake Performance vs. Resolution Mode on PS5

As announced through a tweet on the official Dead Space Twitter account, here is a comparison between Performance Mode and Resolution Mode for the upcoming remake:

  • Resolution Mode: 30 FPS at 4K (UHD) resolution with ray-tracing
  • Performance Mode: 60 FPS at 2K (QHD) resolution with no ray-tracing

This might make picking the right setting a little difficult for PS5 owners, as the frame rate to resolution trade-off also comes paired with whether ray-tracing is enabled or not. Still, unless you’re taking screenshots or something, we imagine that most will still select the 60 FPS option given that every frame counts in this action horror shooter.

The publisher revealed the minimum and recommended PC specs in the Twitter thread as well, with the recommended specs being a GeForce RTX 2070 with at least 16 GB RAM.

The Dead Space Remake release date is January 27, 2023 for PS5. It was recently revealed that the game almost decided to remove the pause button and that a Dead Space movie has been revealed by John Carpenter, though he won’t be directing it.
