We love Let’s Build a Zoo – so much so that we dropped a big 5/5 review score on it when we reviewed the base game back in September 2022. For that reason alone we cannot wait until the new Aquarium Odyssey drops.

Confirmed to bulk out the base game later in 2023, no matter whether you go zoo creating on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, through Game Pass or on Steam, PlayStation or Switch is that of Let’s Build a Zoo: Aquarium Odyssey. It’s been announced just as No More Robots push out a free game update in the form of the Sloths and Spas update, adding in, well, sloths and spas we guess.

It’s the Let’s Build a Zoo: Aquarium Odyssey DLC that is of most interest though and whilst full details are rather thin on the ground, you can expect this to give you the chance to take a deep dive beneath the surface, with a host of new opportunities awaiting.

Let’s Build a Zoo: Aquarium Odyssey is sold as a sprawling, fintastic content overload that will add a host of aquatic creatures and a new story campaign that should keep you busy for some twenty plus hours. It’ll add in upwards of 100 new shops, decorations, facilities, enclosures and more. The trailer below will give a little insight into what is on offer.

We’ll be sure to keep you looped as to when the Aquarium Odyssey looks to open its tanks, but before then we’d wholeheartedly urge you to spend a few hours with the base game first. It’s a game that does what it says on the tin, letting you go and build a zoo, pretty much to your own specific wishes. There are a huge number of animals and unlockables in place, brought together by some intense micromanagement, a great little morality mechanic and hours of addictive gameplay. In fact, the only thing we weren’t totally sold on was the control setup.

You can pick up the base game of Let’s Build a Zoo right now on Xbox via the Xbox Store, playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, powered by Xbox Game Pass if you so wish. It’s also on Nintendo Switch, PC and PlayStation whilst there’s a rather lovely Dinosaur Island DLC pack waiting for action too.

Keep an eye out for the new Let’s Build a Zoo: Aquarium Odyssey expansion soon.
