SEGA’s parent company nearing deal to acquire Rovio Entertainment

Video gaming companies have been on quite an acquisition spree lately. Devolver Digital recently got Doinksoft, Microsoft acquired Bethesda and are currently trying to get Activision-Blizzard, Sony bought Bungie, and now it’s looking like SEGA’s parent company is about to make a move of their own.

You see, it is being reported by the Wall Street Journal that SEGA’s parent company, SEGA Sammy Holdings Inc., is in the process of finalizing a deal with Rovio Entertainment that would be worth a billion dollars. At the moment, if things continue to go well, the deal could be finalized next week.

If you don’t know who Rovio Entertainment is, then you are more than likely familiar with a very popular franchise of theirs that has been a thing on mobile devices for years. Rovio Entertainment is most known for being the company that makes Angry Birds games.
