Looking back over the articles I have written about the weekly challenges in Forza Horizon 5, it is hard to believe that I began at this exact point in Series 3. Seems like a long while ago, doesn’t it? Well, the latest Series to hit our consoles is indeed Series 20, subtitled “High Performance”, and while it offers new cars to collect over the course of the coming weeks, the thing that I’m most looking forward to trying out is the new Oval Racetrack that has been constructed in the Stadium – Let’s get our NASCAR on!

New accolades have been added for this new event, so it should be fun to try and unlock as many as possible. But of course, this is on top of the usual racing action that we have in store, so let’s have a look at the cars and tunes that should see you right as you try and complete the Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 20 – Summer.

Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – Science Meets Speed

The subject of this week’s car challenge is a pretty outrageous bit of kit, the Aerial Atom V8 500 from 2013. Anyone who thinks strapping a V8 into a car that weighs about the same as a basket of soup is okay in my book! (The book in question being largely pictures, obviously).

If you don’t have one in your garage then you can acquire one from the Autoshow for 200,000 credits. Bargain.

Chapter 1 – Small but Powerful

Get in your new Atom and take it for a spin. Step one complete.

Chapter 2 – Atomic Accelerator

Since this thing only weighs 550KG, the acceleration is pretty vivid, hitting 60 from rest in just 2.3 seconds. To celebrate the fact it can accelerate quickly we have to win six stars at speed traps. Simply pick one and unleash the beast.

I’ve upgraded mine a tad to make this easier, and the share code is: 402745677.

Chapter 3 – 25s Only

There were only 25 of this car made in real life, so take a photo of your car. Easy step there!

Chapter 4 – Road Magnet

Despite not actually having any body panels, this car is considered road legal. To demonstrate that legality we have to win a road race, so pick your best one and let it rip. Weird, I know.

And with that, the weekly challenge is complete and we are five points closer to the first car reward for Series 20 – Summer.

Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts

With it being Summer time, and the weather is high, as the old song says, we have a lot of new challenges to have a go at. The usual mixture of racing, stunts and Eventlab nonsense awaits. Let’s dive straight in.

The Trial – Hot on the Trial

Doing our best to ignore the awful pun, again, this week’s Trial sees us tasked with taking a Hot Hatch, tuning it to B Class 700, and then going and doing some some jolly racing. I chose to use a Renault Clio R.S. 200 EDC, and the share code is : 262870774.

Simply grab a bunch of like minded racers from the internet and take on some unbeatable driverbots to win. As usual, the best two out of three races will see you take home the prize.

What prize? How about a Mitsubishi Lancer GSR from 1999.

Eventlab 1 –  VEIXITY Presents The Windy City

We need to take a car, any car it appears, in the S1 Class so I used the Ferrari 812 Superfast with the share code : 261040765, and this worked fine. You can also stay in this to complete the photo challenge, FYI.

As this is a family website, I can’t say what I thought of this course but I will say this – who puts a speed boost just before a tunnel with a wall running down the centre of it?

For winning, we can take away a Porsche 911 Turbo from 1982, a proper widowmaker.

Eventlab 2 –  TYPEHARDFARK Presents Mulege Outskirts

We need a Rally Monster for this event, to a maximum of S1 Class 900. What could be better than a stock Audi Quattro S1? The fact that it was first alphabetically is a pure coincidence, honest.

This track is better than the last one, a tad long perhaps but with a decent flow to it.

We can claim a Super Wheelspin for completing this event though so you may as well give it a go.

Horizon Arcade

The arcade of your choice awaits! Drift, Wreckage, Speed, Chaos or Air, which will you choose?

Well, if you are anything like me, Drift is where it is at, and the Formula Drift MkIV Supra is all the car you’ll need. Simply complete all three rounds, either solo or with friends, to win big.

You’ll gain a mighty 3 points towards the weekly totals for this. See, big!

PR Stunt 1 – Danger Sign – Ridge Crest

Step forward the BMW X5M Forza Edition, with share code: 519084427.

This certainly isn’t shy, and it fits the rules about car class – S2 Class 998. Flying off the ramp and soaring more than 450m will see us take the prize. I hit the ramp at just shy of 180mph and jumped well over the distance; just watch the run-up as the off road bit is a bit bumpy.

Another Super wheelspin will be yours if you fly far enough.

PR Stunt 2 – Speed Zone – Atlantes de Tula

If speed is required, I always reach for the same car – the Koenigsegg Agera RS, and my share code is: 109282883.

We need to blaze the zone at an average speed of higher than 170 mph, and this car should be okay to do it. There are some tricky bends, however, so practise your lines. And the rain doesn’t help!

Should you manage it, another Super Wheelspin will be winging its way towards you.

PR Stunt 3 – Speed Trap – Swamplands

As above, so below – stay in the Koenigsegg is the best advice I can give for this event. Hit above 180 mph to win!

Another Super wheelspin could be yours for keeping that throttle pinned. The run up is nice and long anyway.

Seasonal Championship 1 – Ahead of the Corvette

It’s been a while since we had to use a certain car to do one of these races, but here it is again.

We need to use a Chevrolet Corvette from 2002, tune it to A Class 800, and then attempt to win some races. What could be easier? Well, hopefully with this tune, not much! The share code for mine is : 119304770.

For winning the championship solo, or best two out of three if you can find a friend, we will take away a Porsche 911 from 2019.

Seasonal Championship 2 – Hiding in Plain Fright

It is another awesome pun, as we need to use a Rally Monster car in the S1 Class 900 range to compete. As always, the Hoonigan Escort RS 1800 was my first thought, and the share code is: 264985022. I love this thing as it is just ridiculously fast.

For fulfilling the same criteria as before, we will this time win a Chevelle from 1970.Not awfully modern…

Part 3: Other Challenges

Want to take in a Photo Challenge, some Horizon Open and a Treasure Hunt? Good.

Photo Challenge – #FastatLaVista

Again, a certain car is required for this challenge, the Ferrari 812 Superfast. We need to take to the Buenas Vista house that we can buy, and snap away. I’ll show you the location and my artistic effort below.

The reward? A Forzalink phrase, “Worlds Fastest”. Woo.

Treasure Hunt – Charmed I’m Sure

The clue this time around reads “Hypercars turn up the charm by five as they narrowly avoid others on the highway”. Not exactly rocket science is it?

Take a Hypercar, go to the highway and get five near miss skills. Once you do, the treasure chest will appear. No need for tuning this time, but I took the Koenigsegg one:1 with share code: 138306116 to do this.

I’ll share the location of the Treasure Chest below, and as usual it contains 100FP.

Horizon Open – Keeping up to Speed

We need to take part in some Horizon Open races for this challenge, but instead of winning or whatever we normally need to do, we simply need to get ten Speed Skills. Keep your nose clean, don’t crash and this should come pretty easily.

Of course, as it could be literally any class, I can’t recommend a car for this, but use whatever you are comfortable with.

Part 4: Hot Wheels Events

Should you have purchased the Hot Wheels expansion and are an Elite Level player, then there are a couple of extra events to try.

Seasonal PR Stunt -Drift Zone – Horizon Nexus

Drifting in an S2 Class 998 car is always tricky, but anyone can do.

Anyway, I suggest the Hoonigan Hoonicorn for this event, and the challenge is to score over 138,000 drift points. Should be doable, right? Oddly specific, but achievable.

Hang on tight! A Super wheelspin is your reward.

Seasonal Championship – Subaru Boogaloo

You’d never have guessed it, but we need to use a Subaru for this championship, tuned to a maximum of B Class 700. I went with a classic 22B, and the share code is: 164422572. This should do okay I think.

The prize? A doodle jumper. No comment.

Part 5: Rally Adventure Events

The new Rally Adventure expansion expands the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenge roster some more, however you will need to be the Horizon Badlands champion in order to take part. Assuming you are that, the following events become accessible this week.

Seasonal PR Stunt – Speed Trap – Cascada Fuerte

Koenigsegg again for this, I think. The Agera RS, share code : 109282883 should blitz the target of  115 mph, but mind the offroad surface that will really slow you down. Try to keep the car in a straight line.

A Super Wheelspin is the prize.

Seasonal Championship – Hyper-formance

Hypercars, in the twisty roads of the Horizon Badlands, with a class of S2 998. What could possibly go wrong? Well, I reached for the trusty Koenigsegg Agera RS again. Hopefully it should be able to keep up, and if not, well, rubbing is racing, right?

For winning, whether solo or in a convoy, we will get a Lamborghini Huracan Performante. Makes it all worthwhile, no?

Should you have followed that little guide then you will have found that Series 20 is off to a flying start.

Monthly events are also refreshed this week, and the Rivals events are those of Dunas Blancas Sprint for traditional cars, and the Chihuahua Circuit for the EV crowd. Simply complete a clean lap to win the whole 1 point on offer for each track. Slow and steady wins the race. But not too slow.

The new series also brings new prizes, with this week’s cars being the brand new Lamborghini Huracan STO (sounds like something you’d need to see a doctor for) for 20 points and the not new but still quite groovy KTM X-Bow GT4 for 40 points.

Monthly cars? Yes, there are those too, and the Ferrari 599XX is yours for gaining 80 points, while 160 points will net you a mighty McLaren F1. Keep following these guides to get all of the cars throughout Series 20 as we head into Autumn, Winter and Spring.

Of course, should you wish to take in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you’ll need a copy of Forza Horizon 5 to hand. It’s available to download on Game Pass, playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and even on the cloud via mobile. The Xbox Store will sort you out.

Let us know if our tips, tricks and tunes help you with the completion of these challenges. Or if you have better cars and tunes, drop them in. We’re always in the market for some new whips.
